My Baby is 9 months old...

Sophie turned 9 months old(young) on Monday! She started crawling on Sunday and we of course had to video tape it! It is just so cute. It started as a barrel roll and then an army crawl, but now she's got it! Everyday she surprises me. She does patty cake, waves bye-bye, so big, and we are trying new things everyday.

Yesterday we went on a walk and sat and played under a beautiful tree in our neighborhood. It was great spending time with her outside. She loved the flowers(weeds), except I had to take them away because she wanted to eat them!

Sophie and I went swimming for the first time too. I don't know which was cuter...her bikini or her kicking her little feet in her floating tent Gampy and Nana got her?!?

We watched Daddy play baseball on Sunday night and I think he was quite proud to have is baby girl there!

We are heading to the lake on Thursday and couldn't be more excited to see the family!! We are in much need of good times with the fam, it's been too long! Boating, sunshine, cocktails, and dance offs...it doesn't get better than that!

The Most Rewarding Occasion...

Today marks my first Mother's Day. Last year at this time I was 6 months pregnant and couldn't wait to meet my baby girl for the first time!

When she arrived my world was turned upside down. I never new what it felt like to love someone you had just met and even before I knew her I loved her so much. August 18th was the best day of my life...I became a mother for the first time and I will cherish that memory forever.

Sophie is almost 9 months old now. She amazes me everyday with her curiosity and all that she is learning. Today Jake and I said, "How big is Sophie?" and she threw her arms up just like we normally do for her all on her own! She is almost crawling too. Today she took her first couple scoots! Her knees were even red from trying so hard:(

This weekend was great! Jake and I ordered pizza and watched a movie which was one of my requests for this weekend:) Saturday we went to the air show on base to watch the Blue Angels and we also saw all the jets on display. Even the B52 was there which I have never seen up close like that. It was tons of fun and a beautiful day for it! Saturday night Jake made me dinner...turkey burgers with avocado, pineapple, turkey bacon, and bbq. Yummy! We played with Sophie and worked on her crawling a lot on Sunday. I was almost sure she would get it! She is so close, but she's not quite ready yet. Jake made delicious skillets for breakfast on Sunday and I even got to sleep in! The biggest shock of all was that Sophie got me Godiva Chocolates and the sweetest card that she wrote herself:)(thanks to Papa). We even took a walk today which is Jake's favorite! Actually he really doesn't enjoy them, but he said he'd go today for me:)

A thanks to my Mama...I found this picture of my Mom and I and what a perfect day for it. My Mom is an amazing Mother. I would have been lost without her direction and her standing by myside throughout the years. I need her as much now as I did growing up, if not more now that I am a mother too. I now know why that when I would cry because of something that hurt my feelings at school, she would look like it made her just as sad. When your child is hurting, you hurt too and when they smile you smile. It's a Mother's job to always be there
and I am proud to say that I learned that from her.
I love you Mama. Happy Mother's Day!

Visit With My Mama...

The last 5 days were amazing! My Mom was here visiting and we had such a great time! Sophie just adores Nana Diva and who could blame her. She and Sophie were roommates and I think they both loved it! My Mom and I even got to celebrate Mother's Day by getting pedi's.
The spa was at the Horseshoe Casino and since we were feeling lucky we decided to try a few slots. We ended up winning $90 between the two of us! Woohoo! We then spent our winnings the next day at The Boardwalk. It was so much fun! We also got a tour of the base and went in a B52 simulator and tried flying the beast ourselves! Jake has wanted to try craw fish down here...aka Mud Bugs, so Mom took us to Shane's to get a taste of Louisiana. I am home sick now, but I know we will see each other in 2 weeks over Memorial Day weekend! I am already counting down the days.
Pedis and shopping at The Boardwalk, doesn't get better than this. Sophie loved the fountain!

It was great to see what Jake does everyday! The simulator was a lot of fun and Mom had a great time flying the B52!

Jake and I got to go out for dinner and drinks with some friends, for the first time since we moved here! We had such a great time. Thanks Mama!

After Mud Bugs we stopped at the Cajun Daiciri for some drinks to go. Only in the south will they allow this. They put a piece of tape over the straw to make it legal! Too funny! Oh and Mom and I went for the 32oz and Jake...well you can see from the picture how happy he was!

We actually even made time for laundry! I think my Mom did at least 8 loads! It's very difficult to do when it's on the 1st floor and we're on the 2nd. I need a third arm or my Mama:)

Sophie misses Nana Diva so much. She kind of looks around like, "Where did she go." But we will all be together soon at the lake in 2 weeks!
