Leavin On A Jet Plane...

Sophie and I are taking our first trip via airplane tomorrow. I am so excited to see everyone! I have been doing laundry and packing the last couple of days. We will be home for 18 days so there are a lot of things to take into account when it comes to packing! Luckily my Mom has gotten and borrowed a lot of what we will need when we are home so we mostly have to pack clothes and the necessities for the trip. I am in high hopes that Sophie will do well on her first flight. She is always so great in the car and the trips down to the Ozarks have been a breeze. Let's hope it's the same for airplanes! Any advice for travel would be great! The flight is late afternoon so I will feed her on the plane and keep her content until it's time for Zzzz:)
Here is a video of Sophie's room. I wanted to get this out before we come home.

My Baby's 6 months old!

Yesterday was Sophie 1/2 birthday! At times I can't believe she has been here with me for 6 months already, but on the other hand I really can't imagine my life before her. It feels like I have known her forever. She is developing such a sweet personality and she's a girl who definitely knows what she wants. I love that about her.

To celebrate her birthday we went to The Boardwalk. It's an outdoor mall similar to the Promenade in Bolingbrook. It was almost 80 degrees and the beautiful sun was shining all day! We went searching for a dress for her 6 month pictures this weekend. I did find a dress, but I'm not sure if I will go with this one or her Easter dress from Jake's Mom.

We sat outside and had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. Our first outdoor lunch outing just Mama and baby. It think we both needed the fresh air and change of scenery. We had so much fun:)

She is almost sitting by herself now. This week she also started eating carrots and sweet potatoes! Daddy loves feeding her and making a big mess! I can't believe how much she's grown and developed these past 6 months and I am sure the next 6 will be an adventure...crawling, walking, and talking!

Lil' Valentine...

We celebrated Sophie's first Valentines Day this weekend. She received many sweet valentines and loved all the cute clothes and toys! We had so much fun playing with her and Jake was off Monday so we had an extra family day which was great! As for my valentine, Jake gave me roses on Friday and a fun gift of bath bubbles, a cupcake candle, Nights in Rodanthe, and chocolates on Saturday. That night he made homemade chocolate covered strawberries and we had champagne. My favorite! I gave him a golf outfit which he really liked since he has a new found love for golf! Overall, our first Valentines Day with Sophie was a huge success!

Jumperoo...

Sophie is loving her jumperoo. So much so, that she recently fell asleep in it! Jake and I had started eating and she was jumping away. The next thing we know she laid her head on the tray and all we heard was ZzzZzz! So precious. She jumped herself right to sleep!

"Home Sweet Home...Chicago"

I have been living in Louisiana for about 5 weeks now and I must say I do like it here! But there are times home sicknesses settles in:( So I thought I would write a list of what I miss most about 'Home':

I miss Mom and Dad coming in after work and talking about our days together and their excited look on their faces when they would see Sophie after a long hard day she made everything better:) I miss some of the greatest pizza ever from Cemeno's...Bre so looking forward to your Rehearsal Dinner. Yummmmmmm!

I miss my sissy:( We hung out every weekend just about and we saw each other on the some weekdays too.

I miss Uncle Ewit...he always was so good at putting up with our goofyness! Usually he'd be right there with us dancing or doing whatever silly thing we came up with at the moment! "I'll have another!"

I miss all my friends and being able to call last minute and meet up at Starbucks to catch up and chat.

Most of all... I miss all of you and we are so looking forward to coming home Feb. 26th for a couple weeks before Bre's big day. Love you guys and see you soon:)

Sophie and Solids...

We finally started Sophie on solids! This was a hard decision for me. I think I just want to keep her a baby as long as I can:) She really likes it so that's been great! As you will see in the pictures she's always reaching for more. She gets her appetite from Papa! Right now she is only eating cereal at dinner time, but this week she will start twice a day.

Home Improvement...

We have been working frivolously to make our home feel like home. It's really starting to come together! My Papaw made me a quilt rack and I really wanted to incorporate it in Sophies nursery. I found paint to match her crib and it really turned out great! I recently started painting the bookshelf so very soon her nursery will be complete! Oh...and JCPenney called and her changing table is ready to be picked up! I will have pictures of her room soon:) Jake put together the kitchen table last night and dropped off the last bulk to the storage garage. I found baskets the other day for the kitchen and can't wait to put them together. I am going to get ribbon and some fillers for the baskets. Any ideas?

My little princess

Sophie got this dress for New Years Eve from Jakes Mom. So we decided to do photo shoot the other day. There were a lot of cute ones, but these were my favorite. The cutest part was that once she was dressed she was all smiles. She loved being all dressed up...I think my girl is going to be a girlie girl. Wonder who she gets that from??
