The Most Rewarding Occasion...

Today marks my first Mother's Day. Last year at this time I was 6 months pregnant and couldn't wait to meet my baby girl for the first time!

When she arrived my world was turned upside down. I never new what it felt like to love someone you had just met and even before I knew her I loved her so much. August 18th was the best day of my life...I became a mother for the first time and I will cherish that memory forever.

Sophie is almost 9 months old now. She amazes me everyday with her curiosity and all that she is learning. Today Jake and I said, "How big is Sophie?" and she threw her arms up just like we normally do for her all on her own! She is almost crawling too. Today she took her first couple scoots! Her knees were even red from trying so hard:(

This weekend was great! Jake and I ordered pizza and watched a movie which was one of my requests for this weekend:) Saturday we went to the air show on base to watch the Blue Angels and we also saw all the jets on display. Even the B52 was there which I have never seen up close like that. It was tons of fun and a beautiful day for it! Saturday night Jake made me dinner...turkey burgers with avocado, pineapple, turkey bacon, and bbq. Yummy! We played with Sophie and worked on her crawling a lot on Sunday. I was almost sure she would get it! She is so close, but she's not quite ready yet. Jake made delicious skillets for breakfast on Sunday and I even got to sleep in! The biggest shock of all was that Sophie got me Godiva Chocolates and the sweetest card that she wrote herself:)(thanks to Papa). We even took a walk today which is Jake's favorite! Actually he really doesn't enjoy them, but he said he'd go today for me:)

A thanks to my Mama...I found this picture of my Mom and I and what a perfect day for it. My Mom is an amazing Mother. I would have been lost without her direction and her standing by myside throughout the years. I need her as much now as I did growing up, if not more now that I am a mother too. I now know why that when I would cry because of something that hurt my feelings at school, she would look like it made her just as sad. When your child is hurting, you hurt too and when they smile you smile. It's a Mother's job to always be there
and I am proud to say that I learned that from her.
I love you Mama. Happy Mother's Day!
